Getting to Ischia
Fly into Naples (NAP - Capodichino Airport)

Flights to Naples can fill up quickly, so I recommend booking as soon as possible for the best prices!
There are two main ports in Naples for ferries to Ischia:
- Beverello Port – This is where the Aliscafo (hydrofoil) departs from. It’s the faster option (~1 hour to Ischia).
- Porta di Massa – This is where the Traghetto (regular ferry) departs from. It’s a bit slower (~1.5-2 hours) but allows cars onboard.
From the Airport to the Port by Taxi (Fastest)
- Duration: ~20-25 minutes
- Cost: ~€20-€25 (fixed fare if you ask for the "Tariffa Predeterminata Porto")
- Tip: Make sure to confirm the fixed fare with the driver before getting in.
From the Airport to the Port by Alibus Shuttle (Budget-Friendly)
- Duration: ~25-30 minutes
- Cost: €5 per person (ticket can be bought onboard), get the ticket to "Naples Immacolatella Porta Di Massa".
- Stops: The Alibus first stops at Naples Central Station (Garibaldi), then at Porta di Massa (regular ferry port), and finally at Beverello Port (hydrofoil port).
- Tip: Stay on the bus until Beverello Port if you're taking the hydrofoil.

- Cost: Approximately €14

Getting Around in Ischia

Rent a Scooter or Motorcycle (Recommended!)
The best way to explore Ischia is by scooter or motorcycle! Italian driving laws are quite strict, especially on the island, and renting a car can be complicated. Scooters are easier to park, cheaper on fuel, and perfect for getting around the island’s narrow roads.
Tip: If you’re traveling with a friend, consider pairing up and renting one together.
Renting a Car
While possible, renting a car in Ischia is less practical due to limited parking and traffic restrictions. If you prefer a car, make sure to check local regulations before booking.
Taking a Taxi
If you don’t want to rent anything, taxis are available throughout the island. They can be a bit pricey, so it’s worth sharing rides with others!
